The Eight

The history of the TWBS Eight dates back to the 1960s and has experienced both triumphs and challenges. In 1990, marking the 50th anniversary of WBSBC's founding, the 1st Boat made headlines by defeating Emmanuel and gaining national press coverage. While recent years have prioritized the 1st quad, the 1st eight remain a critical part of the strategy, serving as our 2nd boat. This approach provides more athletes, including a cox, the chance to qualify and race at Henley.

The 2024 cohort, as always, came together late after the nationals but has got quicker and quicker.  The Eight crew is always an amalgamation of J16-18 levels, this year is no different, and they greatly enjoy being able to compete in training with the 1st Boat. Good for the Eight, and very good for the quad in training.

The 2024 crew consists of 9 outstanding young athletes!
